Are we really this stupid?!

The past few weeks have definitely been a busy news cycle. In some ways it has been a lot of fun. As we start 2010 it continues to be entertaining though a little insulting. But if you really think about it most of the stuff out there is insulting. The media and media figures play us for fools!! Media figures? Well that is a broad brush to include athletes, politicians, entertainers.... pretty much anyone in the news on a regular basis. Some of this stuff is obvious and some of it is subtle(why is there a B in this word!), though I find it all blatantly obvious(again why is there a B in this word)!! This past two years have been an insult to my intelligence!!


Lets look back, during the 2008 election we were lead to believe that Obama was qualified to be president and Palin was unqualified to be vice president. Which really made no sense at all. If you took both of thier resumes side by side, knowing nothing about each individual, there is NO question who was more qualified to be President. Sarah Palin wins hands down!! Now I know a lot of you out there are ranting and raving about that, but it's true. Obama had NO executive experience and only 18 months political experience. Palin had been on the city council, was a successful mayor and Governor of our largest state. No matter if you agreed with her politics or agreed with Obama's, Palin was the most qualified of the two to be president. But wait!! She wasn't running for president! That's what really made me angry, they weren't comparing Obama and McCain or Biden and Palin. They were comparing Obama and Palin, now really does that make any sense at all? Yet the majority of the American public not only bought into the poor comparison but also the false claim that Obama was more qualified to be president. Sour grapes? Maybe but the facts do make my point.

Then we were told, by the Bush administration, that if we didn't bail out the banks the world would end. Ok not end but the economy would crash and banks would go bankrupt..... Well they bailed out banks and all of the afore mentioned still happened! In the same vain at the start of 2009 Obama said if the Stimulus bill didn't pass unemployment would rise above 8% and businesses would crash. It passed and once again the aforementioned happened. Not only that unemployment is the highest it's been in 20 plus years, over 10%. The media went along with this of course, because of their blind worship of Obama.

Now as the year progressed the media and the administration lead you, not me, to believe that our health care system was in shambles. Yes I believe there are problems but nothing the free market couldn't fix. I mean a totally free market, no state restrictions so you can buy across state lines. Competition, what a concept! We were told people were dying because of lack of health care and grandma and grandpa would die if something isn't done NOW. This continued on through the summer and the August deadline came and went, then the Christmas (not winter solstice) deadline, then it just HAD to be done by the first of the year. I still have yet to see the people dying in the street that the politicians and the media have told me about. A bill that no one read, not even the people who voted for it, passed and now they will come to a compromise to pass for the president to sign. All of this to supposedly help less than 10% of the population and tax the successful out of business. That makes perfect sense if you are an idiot!!

We had the "Winter Solstice Bomber" that slipped through the system "THAT WORKED" according to our Home Land Security Secretary. Now if TSA would look for the same kind of people that have bombed us before this wouldn't happen. NO NO that would be racist. The new nominee to be put in charge of the TSA, Erroll Southers, has decided that Pro-Life Christians and Tea Party activists are more dangerous than Al Qaeda. That isn't a joke that is a fact. These are the kind of people that Obama puts in charge of our security and we are suppose to believe he cares about National Security. If you believe that then yes you are STUPID!!

Speaking of racism now we are suppose to believe that what Harry Reid said about Obama isn't racist because he votes the right way. "Negro dialect" and "Light Skin" let any conservative use this kind of language and the media would be all over him or her. Because of course it is common knowledge the conservatives are racist and have never been on the side of civil rights?! It is the Republicans that have done everything for minorities, from freeing the slaves to the Civil Rights Act. Which again I point out was voted against by 60% of the Democrats in office at the time. Including Al, I want all your money so I can save the planet and fly around on my private jet and tell you to stop driving your SUVs and make a movie that is total BS, Gore's dad! Man I'm FUNNY!!

The biggest surprise about the last two things I mentioned is that it took President Obama THREE DAYS to come out and talk about the "Winter Solstice Bomber" but it only took hours for him to come out an defend Harry Reid's racist comments!? This was brought to my attention by a caller to a GREAT local talk show, The Chris Stigall Show http://www.710kcmo.com/KCMOShows/KCMOMorningShowWithChrisStigall/tabid/206/Default.aspx. Take time to think about that and where the priorities are in this administration.
